Why Auto Model Costs 150 Credits for Comics and 100 for Anime
Understand the different Auto Model defaults for comic panels and anime image generations, how to switch models, and how to avoid surprise credit costs.
Quick answer: the two Auto Model defaults
Auto Model does not have one universal credit price. Its default depends on the type of artwork you are generating.
| Creation workflow | Default Auto Model cost | What that charge covers |
|---|---|---|
| Comic generation | 150 credits per panel | One generated comic panel using the comic Auto Model default |
| Anime image generation | 100 credits per generation | One anime image-generation request using the anime Auto Model default |
Both figures are correct. 100 credits for anime does not mean 100 credits per comic panel. Likewise, 150 credits for a comic panel is not the anime Auto Model default.
A page is the finished comic page. A generated panel/image is one model output. A visual frame is a drawn story moment within an image. One full-page image can contain several visual frames but still be just one generated image; those frames are not independent editable panel objects. Multiple separately generated panels offer a different editing workflow.
Can one full page with four visual frames cost 50 credits?
Yes. In a supported single-image page workflow, one image can depict several visual frames. With an eligible 50-credit model, that entire generated image costs 50 credits, even when its composition contains four depicted story frames. It is not four independent editable panels.
For four independent panels, the budgets are 200 credits at 50 credits per image, or 600 credits with four default Comic Auto panels at 150 credits each. See One Comic Page, Two Workflows.
Can I spend fewer credits per panel?
Yes. In a workflow that lets you choose models, you can switch from Auto Model to a manually selected model. The available models differ in speed, image quality, prompt adherence, and credit cost. Comic panel options can range from 50 to 600 credits per panel, depending on which models are available to your account and workflow.
To compare models:
- Open AI Comic Strips, or the creation tool you intend to use.
- Open More Options, choose Model, then open Select a model.
- Compare the cost, speed, and description shown for each available model.
- Select the model that meets your budget and quality needs, then check the displayed charge before generating.
The anime image generator also has its own model-selection sheet, with its own prices. Always read the price shown in the tool you are actually using, especially when switching between Anime and Comic.
Example: 20 comic pages versus anime generations
If your comic has 20 finished pages with four visual story frames per page, the generating workflow changes the charge:
- One image per finished page, with four visual frames inside each image: 20 × 50 = 1,000 credits using an eligible 50-credit model.
- Four separately editable Comic Auto Model panels per page: 80 × 150 = 12,000 credits for the initial 80 panel generations.
- Four separately editable 50-credit panels per page, where available: 80 × 50 = 4,000 credits for the initial 80 panels.
- Anime Auto Model: 100 credits per anime image generation. This is not the price to use when estimating those 80 comic panels.
These are planning examples only. More panels, retries, cover artwork, character assets, edits, and other chargeable steps can change the total. A page-based competitor's credit number cannot be compared directly with LlamaGen's per-panel credit number without converting both to real currency and usable output.

How do I check the actual charge?
Review the model price in the generator before confirming, then use Credit Usage to inspect completed deductions. If an amount looks wrong, keep the model name, workflow, project/artwork ID, screenshot, and time, and contact support.
